Genl.
By the London & Virginia I consign'd
you 3 hhds stemed & 1 of leaf Tobo - which
hope will arrive to a Good markett, and
when added to some money I have directed
Mr. Gist to pay you with the Inclosed
Bill for £150 stg. I hope will about
square the yards with us - I shall be
obliged to you for sending me a state
of my Accot. with your Calculation of
Interest, in doing of which I should
suppose Tobacco Remittances ought to be
Considered the same as Bills, in fact
it must be much better, where a considerable
part sells for the home Trade -
if any balance shd. remain due I
will remit it by the first Opportunity
I hope the British Minister
is now convinced that he cannot
Dragoon the Americans into his measures,
and that a Change [crossed out, illegible] will soon take
place - Mrs. Anderson joins with me in
Affece. Complymts. to Mrs. Norton & the whole
Family. I am with Great regard
