Wmsburg Virga: 21st. Augst. 1775.
Messrs. John Norton & Sons.
Sirs
On receipt hereof, you'll please to make
Insurance for me on 58 hhds Tobacco at £12 - Stg at least p hhd:
also about £100 - on 18 Ton pig Iron - 40 hhds of said
Tobo. & pig Iron are on board your Ship the London &
the rest on board the Prospect, Capt Norwood (Mr Lee's Ship,)
the whole Insurance to make will be about £800 -.
Capt. Robertson is just come down to York & expects
to Sail in 3 or 4 days, I have taken my Passage wth. him,
hoping soon to have the pleasure of seeing you, but at
present the chance is somewhat against me, as I am
so much reduced at this Time, having been in a decling
State for upwards of 5 Months past, wth: a bad Cough &
Capt. Norwood intends to Sail about the last of the Month,
Your Mr. J.H.N tells me he will have upwards of
100 hhds Tobo: on board of his Ship. I remain
fully in expectation of having the Pleasure of seeing
you all Shortly, wth: a Tender of my most respectfull
