Dear Sir
I hope before this time the Brilliant
and Liberty are both Safe Arrived if so I
Sincerely congratulate you.
your Son is just returnd from a Journey up
the Country and I make no Doubt will inform
you that the Hurricane has not Done so much
Damage to the Crops as was at first apprehended
I therefore rely upon your Kindness in assisting
my Son in getting either a small Ship or
a Charter of about 300 Hogs.
I gather from your Sons uneasiness that your
answer has not been favourable to his wishes
I only wish he had defered applying to
Mr. Nicholas till he had been sure of
your approbation he must be greatly
embarrasd now for he had the free consent
of all the family and they have been
in expectation some time Past of Proposals
from you. God grant it may end amicably
My love to Dear Mrs Norton tell her
the Trunk of Cloaths left by her Granmother

to be Divided between Mrs Baylor Mrs Burwell

your Son thought it necessary to open the
Trunk as it had been Packed up near three
years to air the Cloaths we found many of
the things much injured by the worm but
there is some valuable silks and lace if
Mrs. Norton will Depute some Person to see
them Divided will send them to her by
your Ship next year Mr Norton has an
Inventory of what the trunk contains.
My best wishes attend you and yours and
believe me yours Sincerely
M Goosley
