Dr Sir
Yours of the 28 July & 26th May / I suppose you
meant Augst. / I received. The Corks are not
yet come to hand; but I imagine they soon will.
I shall take care & deliver the shoes and
book to Colo. Prentis as soon as they come to hand.
I sent you one Hgd Tobacco, which was all
I made; I gavethe noteto your Son. He tells me it was
shipped in Capt. Hubard; I hope it will come to
a good Market, as we have had such destruction
by a violent gust, which I make no doubt
you have heard of before this, therefore shall
say nothing of it ~ Tobacco now sells for 26s/
[1 word illegible] & upwards, therefore think it madness in
me to ship when I can get such a price for it,
but to convince my Friend Mr Norton what a
good Opinion I have of him and regard for him
I shall ship the little I make, which will be
about 2 Hgds ~ I shall be glad if you'l send
me 12 groce of white Vials in sorts, as soon as you
can, that I may if possible get them by April Court,
they cost about 8s/ or 9s/ the groce. I make no doubt
I shall receive a good Account of my Hogds Tobacco
and am with great respect yr most Obed Sert
