Charles Smith letter to John Norton, merchant of London. Smith writes that he would like Norton to order three guns from the successor of Stanton. In return he intends to ship two hogsheads of tobacco on any ship Norton's son, John Hatley Norton, shall choose.

Gent.

Inclosed you have Invoice of three Guns
wch. desire may be made by the Survivor of Mr.
Stanton and shall be much obliged to you to
send them as early as possible, I'd be glad
they cou'd be here by the middle of August,
As I expect the Goods I last wrote to you for
will nearly Ballance my Acct. with you
shall not be agst. allow.g Interest on the Balla.
for the time You are in advance for these
Guns, I tommorrow intend to direct the
Inspectors to ship two hhds of my Tobacco
to You onboard any Vessell Mr. J. H. Norton
shall direct, and am very respectfully
