Chamberlayne writes that she has received the goods she ordered and is sending Norton 6 hogsheads of tobacco and an enclosed invoice for more goods. Chamberlayne requests Norton will thank Mrs. Norton for selecting the petticoat he sent her.

Virginia July 28th 1770

Sir

I received Yours 10th March 1770 with
my Goods to Amount of £ 47..15..3 which I received
safe & proved satisfactory. In return for which
have sent you pr. Capt Robertson & Capt Goosley 6 hhd
Tobo. hope they will come safe to hand & please.

Inclos'd is an Invoice for a few Goods, I did not
think proper to enlarge it till I shall be able
to Ship you a Sufficient quantity of Tobo. for
that purpose. My compliments to Mrs. Norton
and am greatly Oblig'd to her for the trouble
she took in the choice of my Petticoat I am
