John Lipscombe letter to London merchant John Norton. Lipscombe acknowledges receipt of Norton's letter informing him that only one hogshead of his tobacco has been sold. Lipscombe writes that he has sent one hogshead of tobacco on the Brilliant but is unable to send more this year though he hopes to send a larger quantity next year.

Virga. July 30 1770

Sir

I rec'd your Letter Acquainting
me that you have sold only one hhd of
my tobacco. I make no Doubt eer this that
you have disposed of the remainder.

Have shiped you one hhd of
fine stemed tobacco on board the Brilliant
Capt. Roberston it was out of my power
to have shiped you any more this year
but depend on it shall if no Accident
happen, to my Crop ship you largly next
have no more to add but remain with
Due regard
