Dear Sir,
I have already sent you Duplicates of all
the Bills lately remitted, except the two inclosed; that for
£25 is on my own private Account, & the other for £40 on Acct.
of the Treasury. What I alluded to in my Letter was this; It seems
to be the Resolution of the Country to employ a standing
Agent no longer; it possibly may happen that we may occasi
onally have some particular Matter to solicit, & I don't
know any person in London whom I could repose so impli
cit a Confidence in as yourself. As an individual you
know it is not in my Power to determine any Thing of
this Sort, & therefore can at present only express my
Wishes. In my last Letter I desired the favour of you
to send me 20lb. of the best & freshest Prunes, which
I should be glad to have by the first Opportunity as
also Dr. Coe's Treatise on Biliary Concretions. Mrs. Nicho
las desires the favour of you to chuse her a handsome
Bible & Prayer Book for her own Use with her Name Ann Nicholas on the outer Cover; the Good
Samaritan, & Dr. Tissott's Advice to People in general
with Regard to their Health. I am much hurried
& therefore can only add tha I am, Dr. Sir,
Yr. affte. hble Sert.
