Dear Sir.

Mr. Thomas Powell's Friends, upon the
Death of Doctr. Catton, have engaged him a very
advantagious Birth with Dr. Riddell at York,
& by this Opportunity desire his immediate
Return. I have drawn on you this Day in his Fa-
vour for fifty Pounds sterling. I have given the
Bill the usual Days of Sight, but, if his Exigencies
should require it, I don't doubt you'll let him
have the money sooner. Capt. Robinson has not
yet made his appearance, but we look for him
every Day. I don't know what Quantity of Tobo.
I shall be able to ship you; my Crop was but short
& I am offer'd 20s stg. pct. for the whole; I would rather
ship even at a small Loss so that, if your Advices
are encouraging, perhaps I may make you a hand-
some Consignment, but persuade myself you would
not desire it, if I were to be too great a Loser. I
have purchased fifteen Hogsheads to farther my
Inclination to dispatch your Ship. I have not seen
yr. Son very lately, but have heard of him
within these few Days & believe he is very well.
My best Wishes always attend you & yours,
as I am very truly,

Dr. Sir,
Yr. affte. & mo. obt. Servt.
Ro. C. Nicholas
