Dear Sir
I received your favour dated the 15th of last March acknowledging
the receipt of the Several letters I inclosed you and that they
were forwarded as directed for which I am Exceedingly obliged
to you for the Trouble you have taken also your kind intentions
in serving me should you be Called upon by Lord North [illegible]
the mistake in my directing to Lord Dartmouth was owing
to a paper I saw which mentioned he was Appointed first
Lord of the Treasury and was much pleased when I saw
in your ^ letter that you altered the direction and sent it to Lord
North, tho I imagin it will be to little purpose as he may
think it not worth his Notice taking up a moments thought
about so triffeling ^ an Office, still as it was, it was
unjust to take it away without good reasons (my long
continuence in office and paid my salary every year was
a proof of their Approbation) indeed had I Justice done me
I ought to have been Appointed Comptroller of the district
, which if Mr. Bradly will not come out to his Office I ought
to be appointed, and could I be so happy to get a Gentilman
of Intrest to represent it to Lord North he no doubt would
appoint me without hesitation and have once more
wrote to Lord North and beg the favour that you will please
to send it by such hands that he may get it, and my
Dear Sir your goodness I hope will Excuse my giving
you so much Trouble in this matter and that you will
turn over
[Page 2] please to charge me with any Expence you have been
at as to postage or anything Else and should Lord
North send for you and what Expence should be attending
my being Appointed in Office shall repay you immediately
with many thanks, and should Mr Bradly not come
out to his Office (and that I should be so luckey to
be Appointed in that Office I shall have not the
least Objection going to Hampton) my last to you
contradicted your sending me in a two wheel Chaise
I think as you do that I may have one from York or
Gloscester as well made as from England.
Mrs: Moseley Joines me with our best wishes to you
your Lady and family and am Dr Sir with great
Esteem your most Humbl[e]
