Sir/
Some time in May Mr David Jamison
Apply'd to me to Discharge the Bill you -
Protested for £50. I then thought I cou'd with
safty [crossed out, illegible] draw on you for £65 -
which I did. som time after I Recd your Letter
Inclosing my Acct. Sails & Find it vastly short
of my Expectation, for this reason, Mr. Ricd Cary
and others who ships to Mr. Waterman Recd-
Acct. sails of their tobacco Shipt at the same
time, from £9 to £12 p hhd, an as my former Accts -
of sails was never inferior it gave me the assurance
to Draw on you as I did, if my Bill shou'd be
Protested, I shall readily submit to it, and only
Reflect that, a series of Bad Luck & Misfor=
=tunes has attended me for many Years, an
has not as yet come to its Crices I shall be glad you'd
send me p first Oportunity my Acct. Current -
Have shipt you p the Betsy 3 hhds Tobacco which
I Hope will get safe to hand & to a more agreable
Market then my Eight last sent, I shou'd have
wrote to you long ago had not my indisposition
Prevented, the Brass Kittle you sent me was -
the most Ridiculous ever Imported, the Bottom
being so thin it wou'd not bare the Quantity of -
water the vessel wou'd Contain, therefore it's ren=
=dered intirely Usless to me - I am with Respect
sir Yr. Mo Hble Srt -
