Hanover November 1st. 1773
Mr. John Norton
I wrote you the 1st. Ulto., acknowledging
the receipt of your favour of the 29th. of May, -
with the Invoice of the very dear postChaise. -
made for me by Mt. Waller, to which refer. That
Carriage is very neat, but extravagantly dear,
I could not conceive that so small a Machine
could cost so much Money, and now, I find that
I can not travel far in it without four Horses, so
must trouble you to get Waller to send me an
other pair of Harness, for pole end Horses, with
a swingletree &c to match the pair of Harness he
sent me with the Chaise. You will receive with
this, a copy of the Invoice inclosed in my last, &
will observe a few Articles added, endorsed on the
back, which be pleased to direct your Clerk to
attend to. I wish the Sales of the Tobacco
shipt you this Years, may encourage me to enlarge
my consignment next Year, [illegible] prices from

Bristol - ten and fifteen Guineas a Hhd. I
begin to be impatient to see the London sales, - but all
in good time. - I thought I had shipped you Tobacco
in the Greenvale, but on examining Bill of Lading
find it went to Mr Gist. ~ I sincerelely congratulate
you & Mrs. Norton, on the birth of a Grand Daughter,
and with best wishes for your health & happiness,
remain,
Dr Sir,
Your constant Friend,
& Hble Servt.
