Virginia 4th August 1775 -

Gentlemen,

I wrote you p Capt. Esten with Consignment of 15
Hhds Tobacco: Since which I have put 14hhds more on board
the London, on which I desire you to make Insurance at the Rate
of 12£ stg p hhd, provided you do not hear of Capt. Robertson
Arrival in any port before this reaches you. I would not
think of making Insuranc on so good a Ship, but should
any Accident happen it would be a very heavy stroke
on me. With Compliments to Mrs Norton & family,
I am respectfully
