Dear Sir
I received your favours of the 26th Decr & 31st March with
Invoice of Goods which came safe to hand, and were much better
than what I had last year, except the Copper Alimbeck or Cole
Still, which leaked in many places, and was so badly tinned
that no use could be made of it, for everything put into it tested
strong of the Copper, and Doctr. Shore who saw what came out of it
told me it was cankered and poisonous, therefore have returned it, &
if Messrs Alexander & Shrimpton of whom you bought it, will
not take it back, pray sell it to some other person on my Acct.
and send me one of the best pewter Stills proper for distilling
Roses and simple waters.
As you complained of the quality of the Tobacco I sent
you last Year, I desired our Friend Colo. Snelson to buy a couple
of good Hhd for Robinson, but I understand he put but one on
board of him, and since that I desired an other Friend to ship you
a Hhd or two on board young Eastens Ship, but I do not know
whether it is done, or whether they may not both have put Tobo.
on board of Easten, so must enquire before I make out my Invoice,
and shall write you again the last of this month, 'til which
I remain with real regard
Dr Sir
Your very Hble Servt.
Petr. Lyons
