Mr. Norton -

Sir,

I wrote you by Mr. Hart in February 1776 and then
acquainted you That I had Drawn on in favour of Mr. John Hart for
which I hope you have taken up. There being now another years
rent of my Estate due me I have again Drawn on you in favour of Mr. John Hart
for the like sum of One hundred and six pounds, dated this day, which
I hope you will be kind enough also to take up. I should be very Glad to -
hear from you by any means as I have never had a line from you
for two years. Tho I suppose you with all others of England
are Prevented from corresponding with any American by Act of
Parliament. Shoud the Parliament take any Measure to Stop
American Property in England I make no Doubt but we shoud
be made acquainted with it. And it is for that reason particularly
that I should be Glad to hear [f]rom you that I might not Trouble
you with any more Dra[fts] [b]ut I shall continue to Draw annu=
=ually untill I hear something of that sort is Done

I am with due respect your most
Obdt Servt.
