Virginia September 15th, 1768
Sir
Your Kind Lettrs. of the 26th Decr. 67 & that of
March 31st 68 I've now before me, I think it's first
my Duty to Notice that of 67 in which You'r so Kind
as to say You'l Discharge the Debt due Mr. Goose, on
my Drawing on you, this Kindness I Cant Pass over
Without saying I Shall ever be Thankfull to Mr
Norton & will not only Spedily Reimburse, but
always Use my utmost indavours for His Interest
p Capt. Robertson & Capt Estern I send you
Five hhds. Tobacco, which I Hope will come safe to
Hand, tho' the hhd No. 5 is Miss Lucy B. Roscow's.
Which Please to Place to her Cr. the Young Lady has
Been Greatly Baffel'd by her ungreatfull Brother
he is Greatly in Arrears to her & has for this two Years
Promis'd her Tobacco but Disappointed her, but you
may Depend I'll do my Utmost for the Young Lady
in Procureing his Crop of Tobacco this Year & Send
it Mr. Norton, I am sorry to Find by Your's of March
the 31st, 68 that one of my hhds. p Capt Anderson got
Dammag'd as am Fearfull it will be Prejuditial
to the Sale. I am
