RICHMOND, May 26, 1783.

SIR,

THE inclosed subpoenas shew the day, to which your suit is set
for trial. You will be pleased to fill up the blanks with the
names of the witnesses, and cause them to be summoned by the
proper Sheriff. Take care, that the subpoenas are returned. If any
of your witnesses should from any cause be disabled to attend, make
yourself or let another make an affidavit before some Magistrate of
such disability, and of their being material, and send it to me.
The Court will hear no excuse, which is not supported by an
affidavit. the witnesses should come to me the evening before the
trial. If you have any papers, or information, not as yet communi-
cated to me, be pleased to transmit them by the earliest opportunity.
The Court will begin to sit on the first day of October next, and
will sit twenty four days, Sundays excepted.
