THE commonwealth of Virginia, to the Sheriff of     county, greeting;
You are hereby commanded to summon    
to appear before the Judges of the General Court, at the courthouse, in the city of Richmond,
on the 20^th day of October court next, to testify, and the truth to say,
on behalf of Norton
in a certain matter of controversy in our said court, before our said Judges, depending and
undetermined between said Norton plt. and Taylor dft -
and this     shall in no wise omit, under the penalty of 100l. And have then there
this writ. Witness Paul Carrington Esq; Chief Judge of our said court, at the
courthouse aforesaid, the 20^th. day of June 1788 in the 7^th,
year of the commonwealth
