THE commonwealth of Virginia, to the Sheriff of     county, greeting;
You are hereby commanded to summon    
to appear before the Judges of the General Court, at the courthouse, in the city of Richmond,
on the 20th day of October court next, to testify, and the truth to say,
on behalf of Norton
in a certain matter of controversy in our said court, before our said Judges, depending and
undetermined between said Norton plt. and Taylor dft -
and this     shall in no wise omit, under the penalty of 100l. And have then there
this writ. Witness Paul Carrington Esq; Chief Judge of our said court, at the
courthouse aforesaid, the 20th. day of June 1788 in the 7th,
year of the commonwealth
