Dr. Sir
I wrote you sometime since relative
to a demand Messrs. Phripp & Bowdoin has
again the Store in New Castle formerly kept
on our Account to which I have not recd.
your Answer. I wish to know of you whether
you will sell yr. right in a little plantation
near this Town & for how much, the Persons
life on whom you hold it is now old, if
you are not inclined to sell it what rent
you will ask, it is at present occupied by
some free Mulattoe's who I fancy afford you
no profit, and are a nuisance. Your friends
are much surprised at not seeing you down
this way, nor your Brother George, it is more
than probable I think on proper application
you might get some of your sterling debts
settled, I am anxious to settle mine on equitable
terms to you & myself. Mr. John Perrin
informs me he has a ballance due him in
your from the house of Jno. Norton & Sons
which he desires may be carried to my Credit
which you will please to do any advise me
the amount. I am
