Dear Sir.
I am extremely sorry that you should
have had the least Uneasiness about our
Printers, especially as we were all obliged to
you for puting the Business into what must
have been thought the most prudent
Channel tho' they were certainly ill
used by the Salesman, if not Mr. Riving:
ton himself, who might have paid a little
more Attention to the Matter, as he under:
took it. The Printers had intended to send the
Skins back by Capt. Esten, but he could
not take them in; so that they were lodged
in a Warehouse at York, where they re:
main'd 'till they became quite Rotten & good
for Nothing. The Printers have apply'd to
me for Redress, & I could only refer them
to the Assembly; In the mean Time, as the
Laws can't be compleated without those
Articles, & they can't conveniently import
them, I take the Liberty of sending you
another Invoice & should be glad to have
the Things sent precisely as they have
directed; they imagine the Person mentioned
will chuse the Skins for a small Consideration

which they are willing to pay. They would have them
put into different Packages, as they will be less
liable to heat or spoil & would gladly receive
the first Parcel or last by the earliest Opportunity.
Mr. Cocke assures me that he will
remit the Bala. for his Goods by the first Ship
after the Court of Oyer. He mention'd to me
some Time ago his Intention of writing for
another small Cargo, & I, in a former Letter told
you that if he could satisfy you as to the
Time & Manner of making the Remittances,
I would agree to stand his Security ultimately;
this I confirm; but for fear any Accident
should happen to him, before the Goods arrive,
I desire the Bills of Lading may be fill'd up to
me; the Account may be made out as he
directs, tho' I would have that also inclosed
to me together with the Shop Notes; all which
I desired when I sent you his first Invoice,
but imagine you overlooked it.
Yr. Son has had a pretty smart Fit of
the Ague & Fever but is pretty well recover'd.
Our poor Friend Mr. Edwd. Ambler died about
a Month since, & as I am one of his Executors,
& desirous of knowing the exact State of his
Affairs, shall be obliged to you for his Acct. Currt. by the
first Opportunity. My best Wishes for you
& all your's conclude my dear Sir,
Yr. affte. & mo. obt. Sert.
