Gibbs writes to Norton requesting the account of John Norton & Sons against the estate of Charles Rogers so it may be settled. He notes that he had to draw on Isaac Balman of London and requests Norton provide receipts for the money he received on his own account.

York Town June 26th 1785

Sir before you left this Town I often apployd. to you
For yr Acct against the Estate of Charles Rogers Decd
& Never could git it of you you Remember that you had
your Fathers leter Directed to me with the acct I Drew on
Mr Isack Balmer in London for £6..1.. sterling which
Was paid & you had my acct for about Eight pound
In all it came to £16.. therefor I Desire youl please
To send the acct against the said Rogers Estat by the hand
of Mr A Jones or Else I must take som ways or means
To oblige you to do so as my not be agreeable to you
The Estate lies onsetled on yr acct totaly Sir

I am yr Humble Servt Thos Gibbs

NB. please to send me a Receit for what money
you have Recd that is my acct & what yr father Recd
In London which amounts to £8..1 - 8 Curency
