Dear Sir.
The 6th. of this Instant I drew upon you
in favr. of Mr. President Blair for £300 stg. £225.13.9 ½
the Bala. of the Treasury Bills formerly remitted
you'll be pleased to charge to that Acct. & the
Bala. to my private Acct. I have lately been
prevaild with to join some of Colo. Philip Johnson's
Friends as a Trustee of his Estate to endeavour to
extricate him out of his Difficulties; he is a
good natured Man, tho', like too many others has
been imprudent. I am very desirous of serving him
in the most effectual Manner I think it pru:
dent to procure the necessary Supplies for his
Plantations on the cheapest Terms & therefore take
the Liberty of sending you a small Invoice &
should be glad to receive the Things in the Sum:
mer or very early in the Fall at farthest. You
know of what Consequence this is & therefore am
sure you will endeavour to comply with my
Request. You'll charge me with these Things in
a distinct Acct. to avoid Confusion & I will take
Care to remit the Money in some shape or
other in good Time. You some Years ago sent me
2 Vol's of Blackstone's Commentaries of the Laws
of England; if any more of that work has been
publish'd, I should be glad to receive the additional
Volumes by the first Opportunity. With my best
Wishes for you & your's, I remain with much Esteem,
Dr. Sir,
Yr. mo. obt. Sert.
