Virga. 26th. May 1769

Messrs. John Norton & son

Dr. Sirs

I had not the opportunity last year (nor this)
of making the little Consignment I wish to make
anually to you. Capt. Johnstoun by whom I send
this has refused that liberty, your speaking to Mr.
Russell perhaps might answer I mean be of use to me in this matter

You may be assured any articles of Goods
I may hereafter request out of that (at least half
Mad) City you live in, I had rather they should
not be bought for me then sent up York River

I have both your Letters before me the
one dated 31d. March 1768 the other the 30th. June follo
-wing, this cover'd Nt. Proceed of 1 hhd. Tobo. Amotg. £7.3.8

Capt. Keith Wray by order bought a few Articles
of Goods for his Sister Mrs. Stith, & sent them in last
year, but no Accots. of the Value thereof. I Request
my Dr. Sirs you will enquire into the matter & Pay
Capt. K. Wray his full charge against me.

again I request. Pay Mr. Saml. Athawes £2..10.6
a Ball. I believe justly due to the Estate of Mr. E. Athawes
tho' I never Recd. the effects

And now I must continue the word
(Request) Please send me the best Maps of the
World now Publish'd, The Arabian Tales to learn
my Nephew to read. And if there be a Vol. or more
To Shandy higher number'd than 8 please favor me
with them.
