Fauquier County - August. 24th.
1789

Sir

All is well on the Plantation @ Present
both Nigros and stock - but milley she
is got a small complaint yet with a Pain
in her brest but she has got Clare of the
old complaint - I have a Verry Promising
Crop on the Plantation at Present both
Corn and Tobacco - I Expect I shall
make between four or five hundred
barrells of Corn - and between 20 or 30
Hogsheads of Tobacca I have made a verry
light Crop of Wheat - I shall get Done
seeding of my Corn groung in wheat by the 1st. of
september sir you would do well to git another
Overseer for it Dont soot me well to stay any
longer from yr. fre.
