Standish Forde letter to John Hatley Norton, 1790 November 13

Standish Forde, Morgantown, letter to John Hatley Norton, Winchester, Virginia, dated November 13, 1790. Forde writes that he intended to collect a debt from Norton as he passed through Winchester but he is heading to Mississippi and will not visit Winchester. He requests Norton pay the debt to his business partner, Mr. Reed, who needs the money.

to have pass'd thru Winchester and to have call'd on
you for the ballance due Reed & Forde I am
now on my way to the Missisipi and shall be
gone some Months M^r Reed will be in want of
Money you will particularly oblige me if you
