York August. 5 1769
Dear Sir
You will recieve this by Captain
Robertson who goes full freighted upon which
I heartily congratulate you My Son waits
only for a few Hogshead which he hourly
expects to compleat his Charter had Outram
known his own Mind he might have
had 300 Hogsheads. I hope they will be with
you in ten Days or a fortnight after Robertson
Mr Camms Marriage has made a great
Noise here but Pray why may not an
old man afflicted with the Gout have
the Pleasure of a fine hand to rub his
feet and warm his flannells comfortable
amusement you will say for a Girl of
fifteen but She is to have a Chariot
and there is to be no Padlock but upon
her mind
your old friend Mr Smith is going to
Mount his Hobby Horse again I fear

with as little success as before he sent
you four Hams to go by George but as
Robertson was to sail first have sent
them by him Pray remember Me to
Mr. George Norton who I hear is quite a
Philosopher compliments to Mr. Reynolds shall
write him by Outram but believe my
Son Billy has sent him all the news
as I shall write again soon shall conclude
now with assureing you that I am
