Gibbons writes that he has shipped one hogshead of tobacco and wishes Norton to send him some Latin books, osnaburgs and Irish linen if there are any funds remaining after Norton takes what is owed him.

Inclosed is a B. Lading for One hhd Tobacco a
board the Liberty Capt. Outram which I hope you will
find to be very good & that it will yield me a good price.
After paying yorself for the ballance I am owing be
pleased to send the Overplus in the under mentioned
