Letter of Mary Savage, Virginia to John Norton merchant of London. Savage writes that she received Norton's last letter by Captain Anderson with whom she would have sent her tobacco but she did not produce a crop. She writes of her hopes to send a crop the next season and requests Norton procure some goods in the inventory at the bottom of the page.

Virginia Northampton, August 11, 1[766]

Sir.

I recd. yours of the 10th. March by Capt
Anderson, with the Watch & Fiddle sent by him
& at whose return, would have sent you more
Tobacco, but did not make one pound last year.
I expect to make a Crop this year, which I
purpose to Ship you the next, in the mean time
I shall be in want of the Goods hereunder
mentioned, which I hope you will Send by the
return of your Ship next Spring
