Mr. John Norton
Sir,
I Rec"d yours of the 10th March last P Capt
Robertson with my goods. This you'll Receive P Capt.
Goosley of the Golden Fleece in whome I have shipt you 4 hhds
of Tobo. This was every plant in the House before the Hurricane,
and did not receive the least damage from the Violence of
that Gust which did so much mischief in every part of this
Colony. I have sent you a Memo of the Mark, Numbers, & Weights
of my Tobo. from the Inspectors books but wou'd not have you
to immagine from there being so heavy that they are over
Squese'd for I can assure you that I never made use of so
few Weights in pressing Tobo. Therefore you'll Please to give
me leave to say they are 4 hhds of good Tobo. and I am in hopes
will answer your Town Trade to the greatest encouragement
given in your last. Inclosed you have an Invoice for a few
goods which shou'd be glad you'd ship P Capt Robertson
or Goosley to be Deliver'd at York Town. Pray make Insurance
on them, as I have but a Small Stock I wou;d chuse to
import on a sure foundation. Inclosed is a Letter for Messrs.
Jones & Clarke and after seeing the contents Pray seal &
cause it to be Deliver'd to them I am
Sir,
Your mo: Obedient Servt.
