Virginia Sept. 3d. 1770

Dr Sir,

I have ship't you three hogshd.
Tobacco by Capt. Goosley, I shoud have sent
five more, but cou'd not get them down
from the Mountains time enough, however
I will ship them as soon as they get to
the Warehouse, in a Year or two I shall
be able to ship you 16 or 20 hogsheads, as I
shall send Eight more Negros to the Moun
-tains, I am determined not to buy any
thing in this Country but what I cannot
avoid. I have inclosed you two Invoices
for goods, for my Wife my Child & Self
which I shall be glad you will send by
Capt James Esten your compliance
will much obliged your
