Virginia 20th. December 1771
Mr. John Norton
Dear Sir
My last was of the 30th. October
desiring you to Insure 20 hhds. Tobo. of my own, and 4 hhds. on
acct. of myself & Co. shipt on board the Neptune Capt. White
a Vessell Chartered here by your Son to Carry home the Tobo. left
by Capt. Robertson, of which mine was a part - and I beg
you to Insure it at £10 pr hhd - I can give you no Acct. of
the time she will sail - Mr. J.H.N. inform'd me at the Octor
Genl. Court that the Vessell would proceed immediately up York
River to take in her load, from which I Judge she will soon
be Ready to sail, as her Cargo was all Ready - I have
inclosed a Certificate of sundry Goods missing in the Cargo recd.
pr the Juno. Capt. McCunn amounting to £6..2..0 Sterlg which
immagine I shall have Credit for - also a memo. of some
articles, which please to send pr. the first good Opportunity
- you may be assured of receiving a large Remittance
next Summer from
