I wrote you by Cap:t Anderson advis:g
I had Consignd you by that opportunity one hhd Tobo.
and shou'd by the Good Intent Consign you twelve
more on which desired you'd Insure to recover in case
of loss £120 --- If the Tobacco aforesaid shou'd get safe
to hand don't doubt but I shall be a verry great gainer
by it as none of it cost me more than 22/6 pCt. A
Price I can't think bares the least proportion to the
scarsity of that Comodity, I am preswaded the Tobacco
Purchasers with You are before this fully convinced
of the reality of the shotness of the Crop made in the year of
1766 and apprised of that of the last which I Assure
You is but little superior in quantity to that made
in the Year 1758, As it is not improbable but there
may (in the spring) be a prospect for a large Crop with
us, I wou'd not choose my Tobacco shou'd remain
unsold till that might effect the Price with You ---
In the Year 1763 I Consign'd Mr. John Morton Jerdone
one hhd Tobo. since which have been advis'd by him
that the Nt. proceeds of the same was carried to the
6th. of my Acct. with him & one Mr Maxwell who he
has since entered into Partnership with. I wrote
to them last Year desireing they wou'd send me
the Balance of my Acct. in Goods which I beleive they
have failed to do, as I have never received an Answer
nor been able to hear of any Goods under my Marke
from them, I therefore shall esteem it as a par=
=ticular Favour if you'd be so good as to make
application to them for the Balance. Inclos'd
You have an order under J: M: Jerdones their Acct. Currt. desireg.
them to pay it to You, I shall be glad of a line (when
ever it suits You to Write) to inform me of the prices
of Tobacco with You, and have drawn on You in
Favour of Colo. Snelson for 100£ --- wch. hope You will
Honour
