Virga: York 9th Augst. 1772

Messrs. John Norton & Son.

Gentn.

I wrote you a few days past by Capt. Outram to get
insurance on Three Hhds Tobo. p the Unity. also J N Cooks
Order on you for the balla. paid for him. This goes by Capt
Goosley with whom have sent the Three Hhds Tobo. to your
Address, the price of this commty keeps up in this Country
whatever it may sell for in England, the price here is from
18/. to 25/. p Hd. I have once more return'd Shrimpton
5 pair of His best gold Scales & Weights, not being such
as I wrote for, I think they are the same return'd last year
& charg'd them 9d pr. more, to prevent any more trouble abot
them please to send me one pair of large money Scales wth.
a Nest of Weights from Ten Ounces to the fourth part
of an Ounce. pray let them be a good as can be for that
price (22/6d.) the amount of those return'd, by Capt.
Robertson you shall have a further remittance from.
