Sir,

I wrote you by the Virginia Capt.
Howard Esten, that I had sent you the Smiths
Anvil which I recvd: this   Year from you, as it
did not Answer my purpose, being too small,
At the time I sent it down to the Ship the Capt.
was not on board, & the Mate refus'd taking it in
by which means it was left behind as the Ship
was to go down the next Day. It was out of
my power to see the Capt: who I immagine -
wou'd of taken it on board,   The Anvil is of no
kind of use to me, & I wrote you in my Other
Letter that I wou'd be glad you wou'd send me
One Weight 180lb. which I am Advis'd will
suit me,   I shall send the One I now have to
you by first Opportunity & hope it will be
in Your power to get them to take it back again

I am
Your Obt Srvt. Reba: Chamberlayne
