My First letter to you since we left the Downs
was the Day of my Arrival within the Capes. by
a Liverpool vesel wherein I had Just time to advize
you thereof & was dated the 21st Instt. we that Night
Got up to York about 12 OClock & I believe Agreeably
Surprizd many People next Morning. Especially Mr. Norton
whom I met very well & Hearty. I the next day went to
Williamsburg with the Letters & Saw Several of your Frds
who Attended on the Assembly then Sitting.
There seems not to be the least doubt of Dispatch Having
Now in York Warehouse between 60 & 70 Hhds ready
to take on board before we to up the River. We are
now busy delivering Goods at this Town which appear
all Free from damage, though had much Severe Wr. soon
After we saild, Against which have Protested. you'l
Please to Insure for me Home on my Lumber, Apparel
Wages & Priveledgis, Two Hundred Pounds Sterling, to
be recovered Clear of all Deductions, in Case of a Loss
I am Sir with my Love to Mrs. Norton Your Much
