Nicholas requests insurance for his tobacco shipments and informs Norton of a draft he has made on him for £100 to Thomas Everard and incloses a copy of Francis Whiting's exchange.

Williamsburg 22d. July 1768

Dear Sir.

Mr. Tabb just embarking for London, I
take the Opportunity by him to desire the Favour of
you to insure for my Acct. forty Hhds of Tobo. on
Board the Randolph Capt. Walker. In a late
letter I desired you would insure the like Quantity
by your own Ship; but I have increased the
Quantity to 47 Hogsheads wch. make in the
whole 87; you'll be pleased to insure that
Number. I send you a Copy of Fr. Whiting's Excha.
for £100 Stg.; the first by Esten. By the next
Ship I shall remit you Bills for about £300 Stg.
It gives me great Credit to have so good a
Friend, on whom I can value myself, as Occa:
sions offer. I have drawn on you to Day
for £60 Stg. to Mr. Everard, which you'll please
to honor, I am at present very unwell
& therefore conclude
