Virginia 16th. of Augt. 1768

Sr.

I am Sorry that it has not been in my
power to let you have Some Tobacco this
Year, the Reason is I made none, and
I did not think to buy @25/ p Hund.
that I Could Save my Self and Resque
the Tobacco and Goods, but at the Return of
your Ship unless Some Accident, Shall
have a Hhd. or Two for you, My Goods I have
Recd. which would have gave me Satisfaction
had they came Safe to hand, but thay are
much Damaged the 88 Ells of Oznabrigs is
Two Thirds of it Intirely Rotton, and one Piece
of White Linen Very much hurt, tho this
I blame not you for, I make no Doubt
of your Making the Best of my Tobacco you
Could for my Advantage and am with
