Wilkinson writes that he has sent a hogshead of tobacco which he wishes to be credited to his account. He mentions that his crop is short and that Virginians have given up planting tobacco because of the controversy with Great Britain.

Sir,

I have sent you a hhd of Tobo. my Crop is
short, but hope when all Disputes are settled
I shall be able to send you by your ship, more
Tobo. and shall be Obliged to you that this hhd may be
placed to my Credit with you I dont dout
But youl. do the best you Can for me, since these
Troubles. between the Mother Country & america
The Inhabitants have given out the planting of
Tobo. -
