St. Croix Septr. 27th 1782.

Sir

I had the pleasure to write you the 12th
July, since which have wrote Messrs Somersall & Son, respecting
the Eleven Hhds Tobacco, which I find they shipd to Bristol, to
the Address of Messrs Bright Baille & Bright, from whom I
reciev'd the Sales a few Days ago, but Messrs Somersall & Son,
never gave them any Directions respecting the Nt proceeds, &
say I never wrote them about it, of which I have convinced
them to the Contrary, by sending them a Copy of my Letter, wch.
you also have inclosed, and have this Day wrote Messrs Bright
Baille & Bright, to remit you the Nt. proceeds of the said Eleven
Hh'ds Tobacco, being £286..8..10 Stg, I have not yet been able
to meet with a Bill to remit you for Acount of Mr. Norton
but hope I shall very soon, till then I remain with much
Esteem ~
