Balte. 11 Decr 1782

Sir,

Your two Letters p Mr. Cordell I have, - I did
not want his Tobacco but gave him Directions where he might
obtain the highest price. - I am sorry your your Tobacco is so old
that I fear it will be Impossible to do anything with it.
- My Sister Jenny presents herself most respectfully to
Mrs. Norton. She sent the Diamond Ring back to
Mrs. Nicholas about 3 weeks past. -

We have no News except that there appears to be
Confirmation from N. York of the Capture of Gibraltar
& every Appearance in the W.I. seems to denote an Attempt
against Jamaica. - The Spaniards Success against Gibraltar
will probability make them refuse a Peace, untill Jamaica
also shall be theirs. otherwise I should suppose an Immediate
pacification would take place - Mrs. Smith presents
her Compts. to Mrs. Norton.

your Obed Servt
Sam Smith
