Drury Ragsdale, King William County, Virginia, letter to John Hatley Norton, dated March 15, 1784. Ragsdale writes that he is now responsible for the management of the estate of William Langborn. He notes that amongst the estate's papers is a letter from John Norton & Sons to William Cowne, former executor of the estate, acknowledging the receipt of eight hogsheads of tobacco. Ragsdale requests an account of the sale and to know when the proceeds shall be paid.

Mr. Jno. Hatley Norton

Sir

I find among the Papers of the Estate of Wm.
Langborn Which I have the management of a letter from John
Norton & Sons. to William Cowne the then Executors. dated London
the 28th. of February 1775. Acknowledgeing the receipt of Eight
Hhds. of Tobo. belonging to the Estate of Mr. Langborn. I will be
obliged to you, to let me Know by a line the neat Proceeds of
of this Tobo. and when it will be paid for.
