Alexandria July 29th. 1784

Mr. Jno H. Norton

Dr. Sir/

We received your Letter by the Post with
the Money which was mentioned therein £24.9.1 which is
passed to your Credit, In answer to which we have to inform
you that Muscovado Sugar cannot be purchased at the price
to which you have limited it in your Letter, neither can the
Loaf be had at that rate - The Rice shall be sent by the
first safe Conveyance - We have also made Enquiry
to procure for you the wrapping paper but cannot find any
for Sale in Town It being a very bulky Article is not
often imported to sell -
