Sir/
I recd yours to S. & J. S. & remark with
pain that you Appear displeas'd at the goods not being
deliver'd Mr. D.N. - That gent. told me of your Letter
Inclosing the Bill, & said his Brother Dan Georg had
written respecting the goods which he meant to Lay off
the Letter arriv in & there being not one word on the Subject sur=
priz'd me & causes me to decline the delivery until I
recd. Orders. - In course of conversation I was Led to believe
that the Bill Excha. was Intended in [illegible] for the goods
& I believ'd it as we are not to pay the Costs until we are
advis'd of Its Acceptance which must take at Least five Months. again which time we should have expected paymt.
for our gods - I can assure you It would give me pain
to give you the Least Cause of uneasiness & Beg you to believe
I am with Esteem
your Obed Servt.
Sam Smith
