Sir,

This will be deliver'd to you by my worthy ac
-quaintance Capt. Necks, who I have got the favr: of to
bring home the Chain of a Watch imported for me
by my Brother Mr. Jerdone from your House. I hope
Mr. Lister will not scruple to exchange it for me, &
leave the choice of the other to Capt. Necks who will
pay the differences if any. Mr. Lister must certainly
have a very odd taste to put such a chain to a Woman's
Watch, or thought that I should be contented with any
thing : I should approve of such a one for a Gentleman's
Watch, if the Hook &ampc. was off, but can't at any Rate agree
to ware it to mine; I should have got the favr: of Capt.
Robinson to have taken it, but had not an Opportuni
-ty of seing him while he was in the Country. I hope
you will excuse the freedom I have taken in troubling
you with this Letter; I am Sir,

Yr. Most humble Servt.
Mary Macon

P.S.
I have enclos'd Mrr Lister's Note.
