York Virg^a. Aug 5. 1773

D^r Sir

I have not troubled you with a
line since rec^t. of your favour of the 15^h. March
You there mention the manner in w^ch. you
paid old Sargent w^ch. was quite right & what
I am obliged to you for. I have again spoke to
M^r Reynolds & have del^d. him M^r. Mitchells ori-
-ginal Letter w^ch. he proposes sending to you   if the
probats are insisted on he will send them afterw^ds.

We have had very little Rain in this part of the
Country since the g^t. of June of course our Crops are
very far from promising but in some other parts
I am told they are seasonable When the people meet
from diff^t. parts of the Country we shall be able
to form a better Acco^t. of the matter   this Meeting
was by agreement to have been the 25^h. of last Month
but as yet there are but few in Wbg. Your Markets
have been so far from encouraging for Sale of
Tobacco this Year that I have not ship'd any ab^d.
the Virginia   I think must give a little to Robinson
