Sir

On my Arrival here from the Augu^a.
Springs I see on my file your fav^r. of the 11 Aug^t
by which I find my conduct relative to your
goods imported in the Renown has been
misrepresented to you, so far from my
refusing to deliver the goods the contrary must
appair when I inform you that on thier being
sent to my care (which was without any previous
notice) I requested of M^r. Foster Webb to take
them into his own charge & give me a receipt
for I wanted to have no consern with them, this he
declined for want of room & they ware Always
delivered to his Order but one package still rem^g
I wou'd be much Oblig'd to you if you'd settle this
matter with the Owners as they have often applied
to me for the freight - I have now some Tob^a. ready
to deliver to M^r. Webb & hope shortly to settle y^e whole.
