Merritt Moore letter to John Norton and Son, 1768 September 17

Merritt Moore letter to John Norton and Son informing them of his father's death. Moore writes that he and John Robinson have been made executors of the estate and that his father's balance with them and the tobacco sent them are now the property of Moore and Robinson. Moore requests an account current and encloses an invoice of goods to be sent him. He also encloses the certificate appointing himself and John Robinson executors of his deceased father's estate.

Virginia 17^th September 1768

M^r. John Norton & Son
Gentleman,

This will serve to acquaint you of the
Death of my Dear Father who departed this Life the 24^th of Oct^r.
last after a very short Illness & on his Estate Letters Administration
were Granted M^r. John Robinson & myself as will more
fully appear by the inclosed Certificate.

The Ballance now remaining in your hands has
become the property of M^r. John Robinson & self which you'll
please to divide and place to each of our Credit in a new
Account also the Nett proceed of his Hhd, Tob^o. shipt in the
Burwell Capt. Thomas Lilly which were made on the Plantation
and belongeth to the Estate.

Inclosed is a Bill of Lading for the above two Hhds
Tob^o. & an Invoice for a few Goods which you'll be pleased
to Insure & Ship when Convenient these Good are to be
Charged to myself in the new Account

You'll be pleased to send an Account Current by
your next & in the mean time I remain,
